What you'll do at Cascade:

As the Bankruptcy Specialist you are responsible for managing the bankruptcy process for accounts throughout the Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 processes while ensuring that Cascade Financial abides by all state and federal bankruptcy laws while maintaining compliance with investor guidelines. You will work to ensure that Cascade is not sanctioned by any state or federal organizations for failure to maintain bankruptcy time-frames.

How you'll do it:

  • Assisting customers with payments, conducting account research, resolving other account issues as they arise, all while providing a high level of customer service; handle all bankruptcy related correspondence, phone calls, emails and tasks promptly to avoid any customer complaints.
  • Monitoring loans in bankruptcy to ensure the debtor is in compliance with the bankruptcy plan and that Cascade adheres to investor, state, federal, and bankruptcy court guidelines/timeframes.
  • Maintain working relationships with local counsel to file necessary court documents to protect the interest of the company and minimize risk.
  • Audit bankruptcy files for compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Analyze trustee ledgers and payment histories.
  • Perform final reconciliations as bankruptcy accounts are discharged, dismissed, etc.
  • Managing bankruptcy processes as related to collateral document requests, assignments of mortgages, MERS, loan affidavits, etc.
  • Confirming remaining balances on loan accounts, amount delinquent and due dates to ensure Cascade will receive all funds due through the bankruptcy trustee.
  • Monitoring deadlines for Proof of Claims and Objection to Plans.
  • Reviewing and reconciling fees and costs associated with the Proof of Claim and Post-Petition Fee Notice.
  • Reviewing bankruptcy plan and filing an objection if necessary.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of new laws and regulations, state, federal, and investor guidelines to minimize litigation and company losses.
  • Filing signed reaffirmation agreements with courts when necessary.
  • Ensuring all necessary documents are attached to the reaffirmations to ensure Cascade Financial legal rights to pursue future defaults.
  • Performing related duties as required, other job responsibilities requested by management.


What you'll need to join Cascade:

  • 5+ years of default servicing with at least 2+ years of Bankruptcy experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel experience a must.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with outside counsel and fellow team members to create a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, good attention to detail, exceptional research and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adjust easily to work situations based on employee, group, or business needs.
  • Excellent listening, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and follow directions.
  • Actively look for ways to help borrowers, employees, and management.
