What you'll do at Cascade:

Serve the American Dream Through Affordable Home Ownership.

As the Collections/Loss Mitigation Manager, you will lead the daily management and operations of 4-5 Collection Supervisors and their teams as well as the Loss Mitigation team. Functions include dialer and manual collections, loss mitigation, charge-off and recovery, bankruptcy support, repossessions and foreclosures. You will promote teamwork and effective cross-training efforts within the department. Ensures department goals are set, monitored, and met in terms of both quality and quantity. You will ensure compliance with applicable regulations and with Cascade policies and procedures.

 

How you'll do it:

  • Leading departmental staff. Provide guidance and effective training and cross-training to enhance efficiency and productivity of collections workflow and ensure that departmental objectives are met. Plan, monitor and appraise job results; set performance goals and developmental activities. Coach and counsel employees to achieve desired performance results. Continuously communicate Cascade's mission, vision, strategy and operational messages.
  • Organizing the team's day to day operations and strategy.  Ability to multi-task while maintaining efficiency is important to the success of this position.
  • Following up on the execution of the staff and ensuring positive feedback is given to improve processes.
  • Ensuring team goals are attained. Devise and maintain effective reporting/monitoring mechanisms to ensure high productivity and high quality work.
  • Promoting teamwork, including ensuring proper team support and consistent communication and enforcement of policies, procedures, and performance objectives.
  • Leading and evaluating effective staff meetings in support of strong communication and department effectiveness. Hold regular 1:1 meeting with employees to ensure personal and professional development.
  • Reinforcing expectations for excellent member service by modeling and coaching for effective behaviors. Deal with complex collection, loss mitigation, fraud, or other activities in order to protect the Company's best interests while finding feasible resolutions for all parties involved.
  • Monitoring activity continuously to detect changes in collection volumes and needs and assure satisfactory account penetration; recommend staffing changes accordingly.
  • Establishing policies and procedures for the department. Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to loan collections, and are regularly maintained for reference and training purposes.
  • Recommending and implementing revisions to processes and procedures to maximize productivity and efficiency while minimizing losses and expenses. Provide input to annual department operating budget.
  • Assisting with other duties as necessary.

 

What you'll need to join Cascade:

  • Minimum of 5 years of collection supervisory experience with demonstrated people/management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of collections policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations and laws pertaining to collections. Experience within a financial institution is preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of assignments simultaneously and prioritize work assignments for self and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills. The ability to manage processes and follow up on all aspects of operations is essential.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with members, staff, co-workers, management, and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
  • Collection system experience with building/maintaining queues, workflows, and tasks.
  • Solid personal computer skills in spreadsheet, database and word applications to support analysis and reporting.
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree is preferred.
